PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, Feb 07 (IPS) - As Caricom countries struggle to move away from their traditional reliance on a single industry or major crop in the face of growing economic uncertainty worldwide, they are finding it increasingly difficult to enter markets in the EU and North America with new types of food products.

Here’s the first ever issue on my site that I thought should be addressed seriously because if this matter is not handled well, the results could result could find the public facing the risk of ingesting food with little to no nutritional value, which might increase the rate of illnesses  in each country these food products are being delivered to.

Now don't get me wrong, as much as I support the US Government and the Canadian Government, because US and CANADA have  strong political affiliations with each other as well as a strong political and financial connections with countries around the world as a result a famous board called UN, making sure that the food that enters a country from another country is edible, does this  not seem like a bit of a ploy to end importation and exportation between multiple countries around the world.  Although I do like the strategy the W.H.O has taken which is coming straight out and explaining it’s action to the public rather than leaving the public in the dark and letting the public generate some propaganda  that all imported food product from countries in the Caribbean regions of the world are bad and inedible, which is simply not true!  This is just a precaution on a minority of food supplied from Caribbean countries to different countries all around the world. This news certainly does  not mean that every imported food from  Caribbean region or African region is inedible, that’s not the case, what is being said is that the public should be cautious of each and every foreign or every locally produced food we purchase in this modern era.  Read Labels for expiration dates in every food product, wash or sanitize every food product before eating and always pay attention to the level of freshness each food you purchase is in.
